Basic H2S/BA awareness refers to the fundamental knowledge and understanding of the hazards associated with hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas and the use of breathing apparatus (BA) for protection.
Course Aims & Objectives
- Describe the hazards associated with exposure to H2S
- State the Threshold Limit Value for H2S
- State the actions to be taken upon activation of a personal or facility H2S alarm.
- How to don SCBA
- Demonstrate the correct procedure to don and start up an escape breathing apparatus set.
- Demonstrate the correct procedure to change over from escape breathing apparatus air to cascade air supply.
